Summary
The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities.. Teachers must operate as a team player.
At Sprout, we believe in educating the whole child. We have invested in daily Specialists that come into each classroom to teach Art/Music, Language Arts and Creative Movement. Weekly, we have Dance and Yoga instructors from Applause and Yoga by Bri contracted to teach the children.
The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children.
Experience in the Conscious Discipline model is a plus.
Duties
- Implement Sprout’s educational curriculum which is based in Neuroscience (The Elm Curriculum) .
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children, throughout the day.
- Practice co-regulation with the children you serve.
- Assign and delegate responsibilities to the rest of your educational classroom team of three.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
Requirements
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development and social emotional development..
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Nice To Haves
*Associate degree in early childhood development or two years experience teaching 3k or 4k in a group childcare or school setting.
*Conscious Discipline knowledge or training.
