Job Title: Bell Make and Spin

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Make student and professional bells using appropriate tools and processes
2. Comply with all Vincent Bach policies and procedures
3. Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements
4. Maintain a clean and orderly work are.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Form bells
2. Tap down bells
3. Apply fusion and braze bells
4. Hammer flare seams (Bach only)
5. Wire brush seams (entire for student, flare only for Bach)
6. Roll seams using seam roller
7. Round seams (Student only)
8. Anneal student trombones and trumpet stems
9. Round up flare (Bach only)
10. Round up stem
11. Mark out patterns on brass and trim to pattern
12. Mix fusion and borax; load fusion gun and flux
13. Clean parts (Kaizen cell only)

PRE-DETERMINED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Previous experience in making brass bells (bump only)
2. Ability to learn to braze
3. Ability to learn how to shape brass

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to stand for extended periods
2. Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
3. Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and brazing flux
4. Strength required to throw stem for rounding up
5. Hand strength required to pinch stems
6. Constant use of wooden hammer

Requirements:
