Commissioning Engineer
Join a top-tier performance contracting firm focused on delivering energy-efficient HVAC and mechanical solutions for commercial and institutional buildings. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will ensure critical equipment—chillers, boilers, humidifiers, air handling units (AHUs), and more—is installed, tested, and optimized to meet project specifications and energy goals.
Responsibilities:

Lead commissioning and functional performance testing of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, humidifiers, and air handlers

Verify installation and operation of control sequences across BAS/BMS platforms with DDC controls

Coordinate with mechanical contractors, controls technicians, and project managers to resolve system issues

Perform startup procedures, document test results, and prepare comprehensive commissioning reports

Support energy conservation measures through system optimization and fault detection
Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred

3+ years commissioning experience with HVAC equipment and controls

Strong knowledge of chillers, boilers, humidification systems, cooling towers, pumps, VAV boxes, and ductwork

Proficiency with BAS/BMS platforms, DDC controls, and protocols like BACnet and Modbus

Skilled in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and commissioning software/tools

Certifications such as BCxA, CxA, PE, or LEED AP preferred

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
