Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist/Machine Operator with a strong background in Amada CNC turret punch presses and metal fabrication. You will play a critical role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship, precision, and safety across multiple production areas. This includes our metal fabrication shop, vehicle and trailer assembly lines, specialty build stations, and in-house tent shop.
This is a hands-on role that demands technical proficiency, ownership of quality work, and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be working in an industrial setting with exposure to welding, grinding, machinery noise, and other fabrication-related hazards.
Required Education & Experience

Amada Proficiency (Required for Level 3):
-
Hands-on experience operating and programming Amada turret punch presses (EMK, EM, or AE series preferred).

Setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, and material optimization using Amada equipment.

Machining & Metalwork Experience:

Skilled in metal fabrication, forming, cutting, and interpreting complex engineering drawings.

CNC machine operation; experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam strongly preferred for Level 3).

Experience Levels:

Level 1: 1–3 years in general fabrication roles.
-
Level 2: 4–6 years of progressive fabrication experience.

Level 3: 7+ years with advanced CNC and leadership experience.

Technical & Computer Skills:

CNC operation, Mastercam (Level 3), Amada controller navigation, and part nesting optimization.

Quality & Safety Focus:
-
Adherence to ISO standards, safety practices, and in-process quality inspection.

Team & Communication:

Strong collaboration with engineers, quality control, and shop floor teams.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in metalworking or CNC operations highly desirable.

Compensation & Schedule
-
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday: 4-hour shift (exact hours TBD).

Overtime: May be required during high-demand production periods.

Hourly Pay:

Level 1: $23.00 – $25.00

Level 2: $26.00 – $28.00

Level 3 (Amada Specialist): $29.00 – $31.00

Key Responsibilities by Level
Level 1 — Fabrication Technician I (Entry-Level)

Operate basic fabrication tools (saws, drills, entry-level CNC).

Follow blueprints and written work instructions.

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of parts.

Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Level 2 — Fabrication Technician II (Mid-Level)

Operate advanced machinery including CNC press brakes, lasers, and formers.

Interpret technical drawings and perform part setups independently.

Mentor junior technicians and assist with training.

Recommend process improvements for workflow and scrap reduction.

Maintain logs for materials and completed tasks.

Support troubleshooting and quality issue resolution.
Level 3 — Senior Fabrication Technician (Amada & CNC Specialist)

Required:

Amada turret experience (setup, operation, and troubleshooting).

Mastercam proficiency and CNC programming (G-code editing, nesting, part optimization).

Lead high-precision fabrication projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma practices.

Recommend new equipment or tooling for improved capability.

Serve as the primary technical resource for complex fabrication challenges.
