About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Legal Assistant with strong civil calendaring experience. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years or more of legal office experience including civil litigation secretarial and legal calendaring. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable and adaptable.

Recognizing the significance of each team member's contribution, we invite passionate individuals to join us on this mission. As our Senior Legal Administrative Assistant, you will have the opportunity to assist our Attorneys in ensuring deadlines are met accurately for a high-volume caseload.
Responsibilities
- Manages firm-wide calendar to ensure all deadlines are accurately and timely entered
- Calculate rule-based deadlines confirming calendar and provide weekly calendar report
- Review of all daily incoming mail, email and faxes
- Checking of tentative rulings
- Conference room bookings
- Setting up Court Calls, court reporters and videographers appearances
- Assist attorneys with state and federal electronic and hardcopy filings
- Assist paralegals and attorneys with service of all filed pleadings
- Establish and maintain database for attorneys' electronic registration and filing credentials
- Occasional travel to Court to file, retrieve, and deliver paper copies when required
- Prepare briefs and other legal documents for filing, including proofreading, cite checking, compiling exhibits and appendices, formatting documents according to local rules, and filing documents
- Review documents to be filed for form and procedural compliance
- Research and provide guidance to attorneys with regard to litigation applicable filing procedures
- Knowledge of Rules of Court
- Checking of tentative ruling and track deadlines such as Subpoenas
About the Person
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a keen attention to detail and organizational skills, placing a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality. Demonstrating excellent judgment and discretion, the individual should also be a quick learner with the ability to efficiently manage time and coordinate multiple tasks concurrently. Additionally, a commitment to follow through and ensure the completion of tasks is crucial for success in this role. We are a large family and very close to one another. Our office is a fun environment that works hard and is fast-paced. A good sense of humor and flexible attitude does well here. We anticipate that the successful candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities:
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years prior law firm as a legal secretary with calendaring software experience required
- Graduation from high school or GED; some college or business school is a plus
- Knowledge of Federal and State civil court rulesincluding California Code or Civil Procedure and California Rules of Court
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and court related systems (e.g. PACER, and state court systems)
- Knowledge of legal calendaring systems
- Knowledge of Legal Case Management Systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, good team player
- Ability to work and think independently
- Knowledge of legal formats, procedures and terminology
