Job DescriptionVelo Law is a multi-state Creditors’ Rights law firm, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, practicing in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Montana. We are seeking a full time Associate Attorney. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for attending 5 to 15 civil court hearings throughout the State of Indiana each week virtually and/or in person, preparing legal pleadings, legal research, and negotiating settlements with opposing counsel.
Qualifications:
- Dependable with a strong court and work ethic.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Ability to gather, compile information, analyze data and prepare reports.
- Possesses the means to multi-task and function in a high volume, and deadline driven environment.
- Committed to learning the interworking of a very specialized field.
- Ability to read, interpret, understand, and implement laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Capacity to communicate with co-workers at all levels in the company and a team player.
- Adept in Microsoft Office, Windows, LexiNexis and/or Westlaw.
- Works with managing attorney to report all activities and results.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctorate.
- Already admitted to IN State Bar (MT, OH and MI a plus).
- Moral fitness.
