GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the completed inspection of all manufactured products to the customer’s specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - includes the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Create or edit programs for the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) using PC-DMIS or similar.
- Perform Mechanical Inspector tasks.
- Train other inspectors, as necessary.
- Ensure all inspection, measuring and test equipment is maintained and documented.
- Ensure that incoming and outgoing products and subassemblies are inspected at all necessary stages and signed off on corresponding paperwork.
- Adhere to all applicable procedures and instructions.
- Follows procedures and instructions for identification of product inspection and test status (i.e. marking, stamping, labelling, travelers and inspection records).
Requirements:
EDUCATION
- High School degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years’ inspection and Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques, with attention to details.
- Demonstrate practical experience interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) from outline drawings and understanding of specifications throughout the production process.
- Able to use a wide variety of measuring instruments such as Micrometers, Calipers, Height gages, Indicators, CMM, “Micro Hite” Height gage and Optical Comparator.
- Understand mechanical drawings and utilize GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) to complete detailed part inspection.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and to follow written instructions and techniques.
- Support all AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality objectives.
- Must have good dexterity with hands.
- Must be able to communicate with Manager and others.
- Able to read engineering drawings, specifications and inspection instructions and sales contracts.
- Good basic mathematical aptitude required.
- Familiarity with AS9100 First Article Requirements a plus.

- General Safety
- Quality Management System Awareness - Provided
- Mechanical Measurement Tools (i.e., Vernier, Micrometer)
- Micro Hite Height Gage
- Optical Comparator
- Geometric Tolerance
- Blueprint Reading (GD&T)
- Contract Review- understanding
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light physical effort is the majority required. Occasionally, be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Continuous mental and visual attention required.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and bend.
- Good eyesight, correctable to 20/20 vision.
