Job Summary
The Exercise Coach Cincinnati is seeking an Exercise Coach/Studio Leader to manage operations at The Exercise Coach location in Prior Lake/Savage, MN and to deliver One-on-One and Small Group exercise instruction to clients of all age groups. Studio Leader duties include managing optimizing scheduling of coaching team and ensuring quality client experiences. Coaching duties include conducting initial consultations, leading individual and small-group exercise sessions, tracking fitness results for clients, selling monthly and package sessions, scheduling and educating clients. The lead will also assist in client retention best practices. System tracking assistance with lead flow, conversion, retention and client satisfaction. Leader will assist in hiring and training coaches in partnership with the owner.
No fitness experience is necessary, but candidates with leadership/management experience and experience in personal training or small-group fitness instruction will receive priority consideration. All employees will receive full training in The Exercise Coach methods and technologies and must be able and willing to participate both in our exercise and nutrition methodology. Ideal candidate is leadership-oriented and has a business growth mindset.
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of:
- The Exercise Coach Certification course
- Nutrition Playbook Certification course
- Valid CPR/AED certificate from nationally-recognized provider.
- 2+ years experience working with clients and staff
- Must be eligible to work in USA.

Physical Demands
Standing and walking, bending and reaching are required most of the day. Pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting is required frequently. Willing and able to assist clients on and off equipment.
Work Environment
Employee works in an air-conditioned studio. Hours may be any time during studio hours from 6am-7pm M-Th, 6am-5pm Friday and 7am-12pm Saturday. On key business days split shifts may be required to meet customer needs. Studio hours are subject to change to support client needs.
General Accountabilities
- Teaches and demonstrates use of training and exercise equipment.
- Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations.
- Evaluates individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develops suitable training programs to meet any special needs.
- Processes and maintains all required client documentation.
- Manages coach scheduling including vacation and time off requests and assist in hiring selection and onboarding.
- Evaluates and improves coach performance.
- Maintains studio availability to accept appointments during prescribed hours.
- Improves studio performance using quantified metrics like engaged clients, staff utilization, and Net Promoter score

Responsibilities:
- Exercise Instruction
- You must deliver exercise instruction within brand standards and per the directives of your Studio Manager.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Administration of client accounts, including the completion of all necessary forms, credit card charges, data entry, and clerical duties as needed.
- Ensure that all coaches are administering client accounts correctly and completely.
- Respond promptly to all email correspondence, phone calls, and text messages from clients, prospects, and coaches.
- Ensure that all coaches are promptly responding to clients and prospects via phone, email, and text message.
- Track studio metrics
- Client Acquisition
- Perform and log all tasks necessary to execute our client acquisition strategy.
- Ensure that all coaches are performing and logging all tasks necessary to execute our client acquisition strategy.
- Conduct initial consultations and promotional sessions with prospective clients when scheduled. Monitor coach performance with prospective clients and provide constructive feedback to improve acquisition.
- Client Retention & Reacquisition
- Promptly contact clients who are falling behind in their attendance in accordance with our client retention strategy. Log such activities in a prompt and accurate manner.
- Ensure that all coaches are executing our client retention strategy well.
- Actively contact former client in accordance with our reacquisition strategy.

- Studio Maintenance
- Contribute to and oversee the maintenance of a clean and well-organized studio.
- Notify owner of any required repairs or needed supplies.
- Studio Culture
- Demonstrate a polite, professional, and helpful attitude towards clients and co-workers.
- Maintain a cooperative and team mentality at all times.
- Always remain productive while on the clock.
- Demonstrate the value of our brand by actively participating in our fitness program.

- Act as an effective brand ambassador inside and outside the studio.
- Maintain a functional knowledge of fitness-related topics, especially those discussed in corporate communications from the brand.
- Model professionalism through appropriate attire, language, attitude, personal hygiene, promptness, honesty, and integrity.
- Encourage and grow the coaching staff.
- Management and Leadership
- Act as responsible professional for overall growth and function of studio operations.
- Assist in the management of the coaching staff.
- Regularly observe each coachs activities relating to client acquisition, retention, and satisfaction and provide feedback for improvement.
- Participate in the hiring process, interviewing and selecting coaches
- Successfully onboard new coaches in partnership with the owner
- Work Schedule
- The Studio Manager is a salaried position, with quarterly performance bonus potential, with the expectation of averaging 40-45 hours in studio each week. The Studio Manager will also function as coach as needed so that the hours that the studio will accept appointments are maintained.
