Doppelmayr USA is currently seeking multiple skilled, reliable, self-motivated Field Mechanical Technicians to be based out of our Salt Lake City, Utah office and East Coast Locations. In this role, you will respond to mechanical service requests by providing product-wide support in the form of equipment servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair for ski lift and gondola equipment throughout the USA.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical issues in an outdoor environment in extreme cold and hot weather conditions.
- Perform job tasks occasionally at heights of 6 to 100 feet above ground level.
- Rigging (calculations & equipment for safe cable de-tensioning and terminal/tower load management).
- Identify mechanical and hydraulic parts, read mechanical prints, interpret technical manuals and hydraulic schematics.
- Detachable grip coupling set up, terminal adjustments, service and inspections.
- Maintain detailed accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Service tasks may require work after-hours, weekend, or during holiday periods.
Your Profile
- Equipment servicing and troubleshooting experience with ski lift mechanical equipment or related experience in another field
- Troubleshooting experience with ski lift low voltage systems or related experience in another field
- Team oriented and able to demonstrate of a willingness to improve the overall effectiveness and performance of the Customer Support team.
- Familiarity with product service bulletins & product manuals.
- Ability to learn applicable ANSI and State codes relative to tramway installations.
- Excellent job safety (climbing, PPE, product SDS).
- Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as computer proficiency
- Physical ability to productively work in mountainous environments during any season.
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- Willing to travel up to 75% of the year.
