Director of Aquatics Education – Aqua-Tots Swim Schools (Mount Laurel, NJ)

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Aquatics Manager who thrives on leadership, enjoys teaching swim lessons, and is dedicated to personal and professional growth.

Position Highlights:

  • Annual Salary: $50,000 with annual raises
  • Quarterly and Annual Bonuses: Up to $9,000

Work Schedule:

  • 5-day workweek with a 9-hour daily schedule (includes 1-hour break)
  • Required: Four weekdays plus Saturday or Sunday
  • Typical shift patterns include:
  • Saturday and one weekday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
  • Two weekdays: 11:30 am – 8:30 pm
  • One weekday: 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
  • Flexibility to accommodate business needs occasionally required

Training & Development:

  • 3-6 months intensive training at the Horsham, PA location
  • Regular ongoing professional development, including seminars and personalized training sessions
  • Career progression based on demonstrated competency

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Preferred but not required Certifications: WSI, Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, CPO
  • Minimum 2 years' experience leading teams
  • Minimum 2 years' experience teaching swim lessons (preferably children)

Reports To: General Manager

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ·Staffing - hire, train, assess, coach, review, and hold the aquatic staff accountable
  • Scheduling – schedule and conduct training of aquatic staff, coordinate with General Manager on monthly staff schedule, oversee instructor substitutions
  • Assessing - create the assessment calendar of WSI Staff and execute assessments for development
  • Teach at least two shifts per week
  • Deck Supervision at least two shifts per week
  • Meet weekly with the General Manager and complete assigned tasks
  • Conduct Quarterly in-service meetings with the General Manager
  • Ensure exceptional quality swim lessons along with hospitality and customer service
  • Address customer concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Build relationships with families and staff
  • Responsible for general pool maintenance, pool chemical safety and testing the water chemistry
