Paralegal - Real Estate
Job Title: Paralegal – Zoning, Land Use, Development & Real Estate
Location: Hollywood, FL

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary-to-Potential Permanent
Pay Rate: $28–$32 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM (1-hour lunch; 40 hours/week)
Work Arrangement: On-site only
About Job
Our client, a municipal legal department, is currently seeking a highly capable and experienced Paralegal with specific expertise in Zoning, Land Use, Development, and Real Estate law. This is a four-month engagement with the potential to transition into a permanent position after October, subject to a formal application and interview process.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated legal professional to contribute meaningfully to a variety of legal processes while supporting attorneys in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal assistance, preferably within a municipal setting, and be comfortable handling legal research, drafting legal documents, managing litigation files, and preparing for hearings and trials.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct legal and statistical research to support case development

Prepare legal memoranda, pleadings, subpoenas, and other documentation

Draft resolutions, ordinances, and legal agreements

Assist attorneys with trial preparation and courtroom logistics

Maintain legal calendars, dockets, and litigation files

Organize case files and manage documentation workflow

Maintain professional relationships and uphold confidentiality at all times

Represent the client with professionalism across diverse internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge & Skills:

Proficient in legal research techniques and use of legal databases

Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and rules of evidence

Strong understanding of municipal, state, and federal legal regulations
-
Skilled in drafting and editing legal documents and reports

Proficient with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
-
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Qualifications:
-
Required Education: Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Assistance (or equivalent experience)

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a legal secretary or paralegal role, ideally in a municipal or public sector environment

Additional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements
Licenses & Background Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License with proof of insurance

Acceptable background check and driving record
Work Environment:

Office-based position in a collaborative legal department

Requires the ability to work in a professional and occasionally high-pressure setting

Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 10 lbs and use standard office equipment
