Job Description

The Association of Social Work Boards, headquartered in Culpeper, VA, provides support and services to the social work regulatory community to advance safe, competent, and ethical practices to strengthen public protection.

The Licensing Services Program Coordinator performs key operational tasks including processing applications, conducting audits, and issuing licenses while also leading initiatives that enhance and expand the Social Work Registry and Licensing Services through technology and process innovation. The Licensing Services Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing and executing complex technical projects aimed at improving and optimizing the organization's licensing processes, systems, and services. This role requires a blend of technical aptitude, project management skills, and social work regulatory knowledge.

This is NOT a fully remote position.

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Associate degree; bachelor's degree preferred (comparable work experience considered)
  • Five or more years of related work experience
  • Effective written communication skills and strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Experience in product coordination, systems improvement, or technical project support
  • AI workflow integration experience, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiar with databases and cloud-based platforms
  • Strong technical aptitude, with experience using databases and CRM systems
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams and departments
  • Performs duties in alignment with ASWB's organizational culture and in accordance with the association's policy and personnel manuals
  • Interacts professionally with external and internal customers, colleagues, and team members
  • Participates and contributes to team staff meetings

  • Assists in maintaining organization confidentiality and examination security by monitoring the level of disclosure of information by other staff members, consultants, and volunteers; escalate security issues when appropriate
  • Maintains strict adherence to the association's policy on confidentiality in all matters regarding the examinations and other business information about the association
  • Seeks and participates in continuing education or professional development related to the position, the association, or both

ASWB uses a flexible, hybrid work model, allowing for approved remote work as warranted. While typical business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. are the norm, ASWB promotes a results-based approach to measures of productivity. Must have the ability to work remotely with access to high-speed internet as needed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties and business demands.
