Law firm inside the loop in Houston is seeking a Senior Paralegal, in office to become a part of our team!

Paralegals are assigned files with supervision by the managing attorney(s). If needed, other staff members will provide assistance on overflow of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to support legal proceedings.
• Proactively drafting, revising, and preparing legal documents, correspondence, notices and affidavits.
• Draft and organize discovery request and responses. Ensure supplemental responses are provided and deadlines met.
• Establish and complete inventories and financial information statements.
• Conduct in deposition preparation, mediation preparation, hearings and trial preparation.
• Attendance at mediation, deposition, hearings or trial is required.
• File management, record and store client information.
• Liaison between attorneys, mediators, process servers, court clerks, and OAG.
• Frequent communication via emails, phone calls, and one on one meetings with clients.
• Interface with a network of experts: OAG, forensic accountants, financial planners, investigative services, psychological professionals, and parent coordinators.
• Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes.
• Able to strategies and give feedback with colleagues

​Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years experience.
• Texas Board Certified in Family Law is a plus
• Familiarity with legal research; Westlaw and formbuilder.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask with 10-15 cases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Deadline and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and any case management software (MyCase).
• Master in E-filing and E-recording.
• Familiar with Texas Family Law Practice Manual and other necessary programs.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
