The Assistant Fitness Director is responsible for overseeing the staff of the community Fitness Centers, operations, financial reporting, and programs/services for the Client Company and the residents while exercising good judgment and maintaining the excellence standards set forth by the Management Company. The Assistant Director assists the Fitness Director and acts as the primary liaison between the staff, Management Company, and Director. The position requires the Assistant Director to independently think and creatively control the development, implementation, and evaluation of ongoing innovative programming and find creative ways to welcome new participants. The Assistant Director will oversee the day-to-day operations and work closely with staff, community members, vendors, and independent contractors. The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring quality control and working with their supervisor and other key contacts to ensure that the Management Company is providing the best possible service to the Client Company and the residents.
- Oversee the supervision of employees, and community members within the neighborhood Fitness Centers.
- Oversee staff training and development.
- Coordinates monthly staff scheduling.
- Required to submit weekly reports to their supervisor.
- Develop and maintain team goals and initiatives.
- Develop and present monthly utilization, participation, and financial information.
- Accurately manage program supplies and inventory
- Coordinates special events, programs, fitness programs, and all events within the facility.
- Acts as the Fitness Coordinator/Supervisor developing fitness programs, certifications, class schedules, and hiring instructors.
- Assist the development and implementation of programs in all areas of the facilities.
- Ensure quality control and work directly with other key contacts to ensure that the best possible service is provided.
- Manage content creation and community engagement on multiple social media platforms.
- Oversee and perform facility and equipment maintenance processes for fitness facilities.
- Monitor the preventative maintenance program for equipment.
- Oversees overall general facility appearance Includes but is not limited to, lobby, display cabinet, bathrooms, common areas, community room, studio and general fitness areas, etc.
- Develops and implements marketing strategy for the facilities using a variety of platforms.
- Provides administrative support by answering questions, maintaining correspondence with other partners; leads and schedules tours; interfaces with community groups, and actively promotes the facilities throughout the community.
- Acquire personal training clients per the needs of the facilities.
- Instructs weekly group fitness classes.
- Assistant Director must be available to work evenings and some weekends and work independently of the Director.
- Assists Fitness Director as needed with additional responsibilities.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree required
- Personal Training Certificate from an accredited program required (NASM, ACSM, ACE, or similar)
- CPR and First Aid Certification required
