Quality Assurance Technician – 2nd Shift
Location: Poway, CA
Shift: 2nd Shift | 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Initial Training: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM for 2–3 weeks)
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time | On-site
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: QA Supervisor / Quality Manager
A well-established manufacturing company in Poway, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join its QA team on the 2nd shift. This hands-on role plays a vital part in ensuring all products meet company and customer quality standards through precise inspection, documentation, and communication with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured products using a variety of measuring tools and visual standards
- Verify that materials and finished products meet dimensional, cosmetic, labeling, and packaging specifications
- Accurately document inspection results in quality records and databases
- Identify non-conforming materials or defects and assist with root cause investigations
- Enforce and support adherence to quality procedures and safety policies
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively
- Assist in internal audits, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
- Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
What You Bring:
- Prior experience in a quality control or inspection role within a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Familiarity with common inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual standards
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong communication skills to work across departments and resolve issues
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of GMP, CAPA, and general quality systems is a plus
Additional Information:
- Training Shift: First 2–3 weeks will be on 1st shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) for onboarding and training
- Regular Shift: 2nd shift (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
- On-site role – must be local to or able to commute to Poway, CA
